
Lenovo will market in the U.S. a new version of the ThinkPad Tablet dedicated primarily to the business market, characterized by an extensive support for Multi-Carrier. The tablet, already available from this month, was developed in collaboration with Qualcomm’s Gobi chipset and uses the 3000 which is one of the most advanced and flexible solutions for 3G wireless connectivity available on the market.
The Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet will be the first tablet PC with Android operating system to enable full management of multi-standard and multi-operator mobile wireless connection. The device will be compatible with all major operators in the U.S. market (Verizon, AT & T, and T-Mobile among others) with extensive support for major mobile network standard. What makes the difference compared to other similar products is the possibility of roaming access to mobile networks in most of the world suppliers with support EVDO and HSPA standards.
Particularly suitable for users who travel frequently for the world and for companies that have operations in several countries, the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet equipped with Qualcomm Gobi chipset 3000 eliminates the need to bring with them different devices as a function of the nets will have available. In this way, individual users and workgroups will have mobile access to the network always available in a transparent way.
