Dell has announced the Latitude ST – a new Windows 7 Professional tablet that is designed to be used by mobile business professionals.
The 10.1” tablet has a multi-touch display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass and this display is surrounded by a rubberized bumper, for extra protection. The tablet comes with a stylus and run Intel's Atom Z670 processor.
The model can be customised with a raft of certified applications and professional services, and can be integrated with Dell’s Electronic Medical Records and Mobile Clinical Computing solutions for healthcare, and the Connected Classroom solution for education.
At launch, the tablet will be available with leading education software, such as Blio, Dyknow, LanSchool and Texas Instruments, while Dell is working with organisations like Continua Healthcare Alliance, Alliance Health and NextGen Healthcare for the tablet to be used in the medical sector.
The Latitude ST can be used with a separate keyboard, is able to run virtualisation technology from VMware and Citrix and offers a battery life of seven hours. The Latitude ST weighs1.8lbs and will ship to 53 countries from 1st November. Price details are still to be determined.
