Tablet Acer Iconia Tab A510 and A511 Tegra 3

Before you get too over-excited about Asus' almighty Transformer Prime – powered by Nvidia's jaw-dropping Tegra 3 quad-core processor – and HTC's as yet unnamed quad-core tab, you should know Acer has a couple of equally powerful Tegra 3 slabs of tech in the pipeline. That is, according to Japenese siteBlog of Mobile.
Dubbed the Iconia Tab A510 and A511, Acer's next-gen tabs are thought to be available in Wi-Fi only and 3G + Wi-Fi flavours respectively, which both have the Transformer Prime and HTCs quad-core tab squarely in their sights.
Its specs are expected to be just as impressive as the Transformer Prime, but at this stage all we know is that it's going to rock a 1280 x 800 pixel screen and even that has to be taken with a pinch of salt.
With both sets of tabs seemingly going head to head in the near future, we guess it will all boil down to whether you want a hybrid device that doubles up as a netbook, or a standalone tablet device that eschews a keyboard completely.
Either way, we suspect we'll be feasting our eyes on both tablet offerings at CES in January 2012.
After the first images of Acer Iconia Tab A200, which at the time we really know very little, get new clues about the other two tablets of Taiwan. The protagonists are Acer Iconia Tab A510 and A511, whose initials appeared to surprise on the Acer support site (here and here). Most likely Iconia Tab A510 and A511 will be the first two models of tablet with Nvidia Tegra platform 3, quad core, successors of Acer Iconia Tab A500 and A501. As was the case for the previous generation, Iconia Tab A510 will be WiFi-only version and Iconia Tab A511 will have WiFi module +3 G.
HDBlog suggest that the hardware equipment of the two tablets will remain unchanged from the past, perhaps with some cosmetic upgrade, but otherwise comparable. We do not know when a full release of Android will be installed, but it is very likely to choose the latest version Acer Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, to improve usability, speed and compatibility of the system.
Currently there was no information on price and availability of Acer A510 and A511 Iconia Tab, but we can assume that the launch is planned for the first weeks of January, possibly at the CES 2012 in Las Vegas, at a cost similar to current models the market.
Acer Iconia Tab A510 – The power of the new NVIDIA Tegra 3 chip has not gone unnoticed among many manufacturers, who already work or have nearly completed their replacements leading-edge tablets, this time integrating the new SoC processor with four cores. The imminent launch of Asus Transformer Prime, joins the discovery of the new Acer tablet that has been “confirmed” in the firm’s Web site, through a few pages of device profile in XML format, containing basic information about the new product, which has been found in two different SKUs, Iconia Tab A510 and Iconia Tab A511, the latter being the version that incorporates 3G + Wi-Fi.
This new addition to the line Iconia Tab and integrate the Tegra 3 chip, would have a 10.1-inch screen with 1280×800 pixels resolution, like the rest of tablets of these features, along with a Bluetooth 2.0 chip and the classical string of sensors Typical of these devices. The two versions are distinguished only by their connectivity, with access to 3G networks in the Iconia Tab A511model, which does not include, in principle, support for next-generation LTE networks. So bare with filtration we lack many details, such as chassis type, thickness and design, although it is estimated that the look will be similar to the Iconia Tab A510. Another equally important information is not available is the software that will drive this new tablet Tegra 3, but we could assume that it will include the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
This is the second in a series of tablets with multi-core processors from majormanufacturers will start to see emerge in the coming weeks, after the official launch of Tegra 3. What is not clear to me is where is this supposed newgeneration of tablets with displays such as “retina” that was promised in the middle of this year, and would arrive at resolutions FullHD Post to bring a new era in high definition image. Why next year perhaps, Iconia Tab A510 on market?
