The new Archos slab is fitted with Android Honeycomb (v3.2) – its first by the way – instead of ICS upon its debut at CES 2012. However, tablet hunters would be delighted to know that the Archos Internet tablet will be offered at an affordable rate of just $199. Still the question remains: Is it worth your hard-earned dough?
The Archos 70B is slim, lightweight and provides portable internet access to tech users. Coupled with its pre-loaded apps, the internet tablet has native access to Android Market providing additional applications to would-be owners. The device comes with a 512MB RAM, 8GB built-in storage, WiFi connectivity, 1.2 GHz processor, 7-inch capacitive touchscreen panel (with 1024 x 600 resolution), HDMI, microSD slot and offers multi-tasking, 3D gaming capability as well as multimedia viewing.
Users who are looking for inexpensive slates, other than Kindle Fire (costs $199) and Nook Tablet (costs $249), now have another option to check. And although both Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet have higher CPU variant (dual core processors), the 70B has a more tablet-optimized platform compared (Honeycomb versus Gingerbread).
