Klipsch launches a new AirPlay-enabled speaker, the Gallery G-17 Air that lets you enjoy your music library. The AirPlay speaker connects wirelessly over WiFi to your home network, and allows you to access and playback of your iTunes libraries from your Apple iPod touch, iPhone and iPad running iOS 4.2 or above. The G-17 Air is powered by separate, high-quality, digital amplifiers for each driver – 10 watts x 2 aluminum diaphragm compression drivers for high frequencies and 20 watts x 2 long-throw IMG woofers for low frequencies.
With a compact cabinet, the speaker delivers dynamic lifelike sound thanks to Klipsch’s Tractrix Horn technology. The “three-quarter inch, solid-formed, very lightweight, aluminum diaphragms work in conjunction with precise phasing plugs at the horn throats to create highly efficient drivers with excellent transient response and lack of distortion; and the dual woofers with light, yet very stiff diaphragms matched with large motor structures, designed for maximum controlled excursion combine with a precisely tuned, flared port to reproduce tight and balanced bass.” It provides USB input for direct connection and charging of Apple’s portable devices, and a 3.5mm input jack for other audio sources.
The Klipsch Gallery G-17 Air has a high gloss finish and it comes with a dark tint, tempered glass base. It can be easily wall-mounted via dual keyhole mounts as well. The AirPlay is priced at $549.99.
