Acer AZ3 & AZ5 All-in-Ones HD PC

acer has released the 'veriton Z' all-in-one (AIO) desktop PC, alongside the touchscreen AIO 'AZ3' and 'AZ5' devices

now available are three new series of all-in-one personal computers by acer: the media-centric 'AZ3' and 'AZ5'
touchscreen desktops, and the 'veriton Z' series for business performance. all devices run the windows 7 operating system.

the 'veriton Z' series is designed for maximized performance in compact space. while devices vary in their processing power,
all contain a 20-inch LCD screen mounted in a black chassis with six USB 2.0 ports. processors range from an intel 4-core i5
with nvidia graphics card to a dual-core intel pentium processor with intel graphics, featuring 500GB SATA hard drives
and 4GB of SDRAM to facilitate multitasking.

special software built into the system includes acer's 'proshield' data security applications as well as network management
and system backup tools.

devices in the 'acer veriton Z' line begin at 650 USD and run through 850 USD.
Acer's consumer models are known as the AZ3 and AZ5, both of these coming with an adjustable stand, two side-mounted USB 3.0 ports, a multi-in-one digital media card reader, 802.11b/g/n wireless as well as with a wireless keyboard and mouse.

Inside of these AIOs things are however a bit different since the more powerful AZ5 is built around an Intel Core i3-2120 processor, seconded by 4GB of system memory and a 1TB hard drive, all packed together with a 23-inch Full HD display with multi-touch capabilities.

The retail price of the AZ5 is set at $750 (542 Euros), so Acer has also designed the AZ3, which is a cut-back version of the former with an $100 (72 Euros) smaller MSRP.

To achieve this price cut, Acer has decreased the diagonal of the screen from 23 to just 21 inches, switched to a dual-core AMD A4-series APU paired together with a discreet Radeon HD 6410 graphics card and also installed a smaller 500GB hard drive.

As all of Acer's touchsceen-enabled devices to hit the market recently, these two AIOs also feature the clear.fi software as well as some other applications such as the Acer TouchPortal or the Acer Browser Magnifier.

"A sophisticated appearance and practical design make our all-in-one form factor very popular with consumers," said Irene Chan, senior business manager of consumer desktops for Acer America.

"Our newest all-in-one models feature an intuitive touch screen display for playing digital music, scrolling through images, browsing online recipes and viewing social networking sites.

The system is powered by Intel's second-generation Core processors and users have the option of choosing between various Core i5 and Core i7 chips, ranging all the way up to the Core i7-2630QM.

This is one of Intel's most powerful mobile Sandy Bridge processors to be released until now and it packs no less than four processing cores clocked at 2GHz (2.9GHz in Turbo mode), 6MB of Level 3 cache as well as support for the Hyper-Threading technology.

Users can pair this fast processors with up to 8GB of DDR3 memory setup in a dual-channel configuration and select models even feature a GeForce GT 540M dedicated graphics card with 1GB of video buffer.

Other configuration options include various HDD units with a maximum capacity of 1TB, a DVD or Blu-ray drive, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity and an HD webcam with a backlit SonyExmor image sensor.

All around the edges of the Vaio L, users will find a wide selection of ports and connectors, including two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI output, a FireWire port and a multi-format card reader.

The touchscreen display measures 24-inch in diagonal, sports a 1920x1080 Full HD resolution and is flanked by a touch-enabled bezel providing various extra controls such as zooming, on-screen keyboard activation, windows closing and others.

As mentioned earlier, the Sony Vaio L-Series all-in-one computer will be available for pre-order starting from July 13.

Its estimated release price is set at $1,420 and Sony also plans to offer a wall-mounting option that will be sold separately
