Asus EeePC X101H :Review

As expected, after the appearance on the official lists of Asus, the Asus EeePC netbook ultra X101H is official in our country. Launched at Computex 2011 in Taipei, the path of this model of EeeFamily can be considered among the most difficult, since the fate of Meego. Please remember that EeePC X101 was announced last summer as the first MeeGo-based netbooks. After leaving the operating system Intel-Nokia, Asus has decided to launch a new version, X101H Asus Eee PC, running Windows 7 Starter Edition (and beyond).
At just 18 mm thick and weighing only one kilogram, the new Asus netbook is ideal for men and women on the move, looking for a netbook from exceptional portability. The characteristics of extraordinary agility and lightness not prevent Asus EeePC X101 to ensure the most advanced standards of the class: the most recent Intel Atom N570 dual-current and a large 320GB hard drive, along with an ergonomic keyboard with keys to the island and a touchpad is spacious and comfortable.
Complete the configuration a multiformat memory card reader, built-in webcam and the latest generation of WiFi connectivity. In addition, the Instant-on feature allows you to interrupt a session and restore it in just two seconds, allowing you to get up and running, and providing a standby time of up to 1 week, thanks to ASUS Super Hybrid Engine (SHE) to optimize energy efficiency based on performance requirements.
EeePC Netbook X101 is ideal for students and new generations on the move. Designed to be especially appealing to young audiences, can always be online and in constant contact with social media favorites. ASUS also makes available a wide range of cloud services, including Asus @ vibe, the ‘ASUS appstore, in addition to the convenience of free online storage through ASUS WebStorage.

ASUS have traditionally released their Eee PC series of netbooks targetted at consumers who want their laptop solely for net usage, along with a slight amount of word processing features. The company have usually launched these netbooks with Windows or Linux operating systems. Now, with their latest Eee PC, ASUS have released the X101H netbook that runs on a relatively new OS - Meego. Without the need to elaborate, Meego is the main feature on this netbook. Read on to know if the Eee PC X101H can match upto other netbooks available in the market.
There is 1 or 2 GB of RAM (the new architecture seems to have the same 2 GB cap when it comes to system memory), and a 250 or 320 GB hard disk drive instead of the SSD drive you had on the X101.
There’s also WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0 and a 3 cell battery, but probably there will be a version with a stronger juice maker. The display has a standard 1024 x 600 resolution and has a matte finish, while the keyboard has been redesigned a little. The keys are more square than before and there’s more space between them. Hopefully they won’t flex too much and won’t make too much noise. The X101H is 22 mm slim and weighs around 1 kg with the 3 cell battery, being a truly portable computer, also being able to boot from both Windows 7 Starter and Asus’s Express Gate.
For now, this is all we’ve got about the X101H, with configuration and availability info to be disclosed by Asus tomorrow or the day after. We could speculate that the starting price for the X101H might be around 250 bucks, with the premium version going over $300. Hopefully the next couple of days will enlighten us regarding this brand new Eee PC netbook. Hit the video below and tell us what you think about Asus’s new approach to 10 inch mini laptops.
