Idea launches new 3G Android Smartphones :Review



Idea Cellular has launched 2 new 3G Android smartphones, Idea Blade and Idea ID 280. These phones come with pre-installed Idea’s 3G applications on Android based smartphones. These phones also come with data services worth Rs. 3,500 with Rs. 259 pack that offers free subscription to Idea TV for 3 months, 1 GB of data download per month for 3 months, 3G Double Dhamaka benefits for 6 months, and Talktime of Rs. 25. This is available for both prepaid and postpaid users.
These phones runs on Android 2.2 (FroYo). The Idea ID 280 comes with a 2.8-inch capacitive touch screen display and is powered by 528MHz processor. The Idea Blade comes with a 3.5-inch capacitive touch screen display and is powered by 600MHz processor. Other features include 3.2 MP Camera, 3G HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, GPS, FM radio and MP3 Player, WiFi, Bluetooth, 150 MB internal memory that is expandable up to 32GB with Micro SD Card. Social Media Apps such as Facebook, Twitter, Orkut, browser Operamini, and pre-loaded Google and Youtube and Idea TV.
The Idea ID 280 and Idea Blade are priced at Rs. 5,850 and Rs. 7,992, respectively. These phones would be available at all major mobile retail stores and Idea outlets across all major cities in India.
The Idea Blade and id380 smartphones are priced at Rs.7,992 and Rs.5,850, respectively. On bundling them with the 3G pack provided by Idea, users can take home 3G application services worth Rs.3,500 at a price of Rs.259. Available for both pre-paid and post paid customers, the pack includes free subscription to Idea TV for 3 months, 1GB of data download per month for 3 months, 3G Double Dhamaka benefits for 6 months, and Talktime of Rs.25.

The 3G smartphone that costs Rs.5,850, along with the pack would eventually come for a value of Rs. 2,609, says the company. Both phones run on Android 2.2 and are capable of serving as Wi-Fi routers, the Blade embeds a 3.5-inch touchscreen and the id380 comes with a 2.8-inch display.
